Mariposa and Stepping Stones, programs of SMRS, are designed to provide comprehensive treatment and support for women struggling with substance use disorders.

We offer a safe and structured environment where women (and women with children) can focus on their recovery journey without the distractions and triggers present in their everyday lives.

Our residential centers provide round-the-clock care and supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of the women residing there. Trained staff members are available to offer support, guidance, and assistance whenever needed.

Each woman receives a personalized treatment plan tailored to her specific needs and circumstances. This plan includes a combination of individual, group, and family counseling, holistic therapies, and other evidence-based approaches.

We provide life skills training to help them build practical skills necessary for independent living and successful reintegration into society. This includes education on budgeting, job skills, parenting, and healthy coping mechanisms.

We guide and help each woman to develop an aftercare plan that may involve ongoing therapy, support group participation, outpatient treatment, and relapse prevention strategies to prepare them for life after treatment.

Mariposa and Stepping Stones also have bilingual staff that cater to the diverse needs of our residents. Our programs are conducted in multiple languages, ensuring language accessibility and cultural sensitivity.

We understand that effective communication and understanding are vital for successful treatment outcomes. By providing services in both the primary language spoken by our participants and additional languages, we foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals can fully engage, express themselves, and receive the support they need. Our bilingual approach allows us to address language barriers, enhance the therapeutic alliance, and ultimately provide a more effective and comprehensive treatment experience for all.

Stepping Stones Home

Our treatment programs offer a safe and supportive living environment for individuals transitioning from inpatient treatment or those who need ongoing support to maintain sobriety.

Some features and benefits of our treatment programs are the following:

  • Peer Support: Living with others who are also in recovery can provide a supportive community where individuals can share experiences, provide encouragement, and hold each other accountable.
  • Structure and Routine: They have daily routines and schedules that help individuals establish healthy habits and build a foundation for long-term recovery.
  • Continued Treatment: Residents may be required or encouraged to participate in outpatient treatment or support group meetings while residing in the home.
  • Transitional Support: Our recovery homes serve as stepping stones between more intensive treatment settings and independent living, providing individuals with a gradual transition back into society.
  • Stability and Accountability: We offer stability and reduce the risk of relapse by providing a drug- and alcohol-free environment and accountability measures.
