The heartwarming event, which is a testament to the power of community and the importance of mental health, brought together individuals from all walks of life to run, walk, and fundraise for a cause close to our hearts.

The 16th-year Run4Recovery fundraiser, held on October 14, has become a cherished tradition in our community. It is not only a fundraising event, but also a powerful platform for spreading awareness about mental health and recovery, shedding light on the struggles individuals face daily.

Sarah, who has been steering the ship at River Community with unwavering dedication, saw this event as an opportunity to show their support for those battling mental health issues. “We believe in the power of community to create positive change,” she shared. “The Run4Recovery is a perfect example of how we can come together to support one another. I have been participating for 9 years now.”

Run4Recovery, founded by Robin McGeough, honored the facilities and hospitals that help the most vulnerable individuals recovering from alcohol and drug addictions.

This year’s theme is “Ride to Save Lives”. The participants rode 800 miles from Reno, Nevada to Covina, California as a way to raise awareness and save lives.

Sarah expressed her gratitude for the dedication of her team and the broader community, saying, “The annual Run4Recovery event is a beautiful reminder that we can make a difference in the lives of those struggling with addiction and mental health issues. We are proud to be part of this initiative, and we will continue to stand together for a more compassionate and supportive community.”

The River Community staff’s participation in the annual Run4Recovery fundraiser was a testament to their unwavering commitment to mental health and their dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. Our staff showed that when a community unites with a common goal, they can create a brighter, more compassionate future for all.
