Staff and Participants of Pasadena Council of Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (PCADD), a program of Social Model Recovery Systems, celebrated a BBQ/Taco Day on August 25 led by PCADD Program Director Daniel Lugo.

This day offers a chance for individuals to form connections that extend beyond the treatment rooms and into everyday life.

In the aftermath of the recent Hurricane Hilary that hit our location, the taco/bbq day took on a newfound significance. It stood as a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of community in overcoming challenges. Today became a celebration of the resilience demonstrated by both individuals and the community. Whether it was a participant’s milestone in recovery or a staff member’s dedication to keeping the center operational during trying times, each story of perseverance was acknowledged and applauded. This celebration of resilience reinforced the idea that adversity can be transformed into an opportunity for growth.

Our agency believes in holistic healing and fostering a sense of community among our participants and residents. While our primary focus is on providing comprehensive outpatient care, we also recognize the importance of creating moments of joy and connection through events like this. These kind of events strengthen our commitment to supporting individuals not only in their struggles but also in their journey toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Recovery is a journey marked by small victories and gradual progress. Whether it’s a participant’s first month of sobriety, a personal breakthrough in therapy, or a step towards rebuilding relationships, each success is acknowledged and celebrated. This positivity reinforces the idea that recovery is attainable and worth every effort.

At Social Model Recovery Systems, we listen, we understand, we take action on helping any individual and their family overcome addiction and mental illness.
