River Community staff and residents celebrated Easter Egg Sunday.

The residents colored and decorated the eggs, then the staff hid the eggs all over the property for the residents to find. When everyone was ready, they began the egg hunting. Staff encouraged all residents to search high and low for the eggs, and to help each other out if they needed it.

Once the time limit had expired and all the eggs had been found, everyone  gathered to count the eggs. Prizes were given for the most eggs collected and for finding special eggs that had hidden prizes inside. Each resident also received a  water bottle, “Easter Baskets” filled with Serenity Prayer bracelets, a mini Rubik’s cube, inspirational stress balls, and of course candies!!

Overall, it was a fun and egg-citing activity that everyone enjoyed. It was a great way to build trust and relationship between staff and residents.

This activity made the residents more appreciative of the staff who displayed faith in them. Experiencing the River Community staff’s belief in them is associated with reclaiming hope and starting to believe that positive change is possible. Events like this make a meaningful impact on the residents by introducing them to the  possibilities of a better life/future.

An Easter egg hunt is a fun activity for people of all ages and is a popular celebration during the Easter holiday season.
