Social Model Recovery Systems is proud to announce the promotion of Niah Ramos as the new Program Coordinator and Kevin Butler as the new Program Manager of Royal Palms.

Niah Ramos, the new Program Coordinator

Niah began her career in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment at Royal Palms in September of 2019 as a Case Aide and four (4) months later transitioned to the Admissions department as an Admissions Counselor.

Niah is now working on getting her bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology with a goal of getting her master’s as an MFT.

“Niah is disciplined and goal-oriented. It just made sense for Niah to be the Program Coordinator of Royal Palms. I look forward to seeing her grow and transform in her new position.” Vanessa Ramos, Royal Palms Program Director.

As the new Program Coordinator, Niah is responsible for designing and implementing addiction treatment programs that are evidence-based and tailored to the specific needs of the clients.

“I was lucky enough to admit our very first LGBTQ+ resident during the transition from an all-male facility to a coed LGBTQ+ program. I worked as an Admissions Counselor for the past three (3) years. Since working at Royal Palms, I have learned so much and worked under some great mentors who have been patient and taken the time to guide and believe in me. As someone who spent most of my life inside one institution or another and lived with no hope and seemingly no way out, I have found my heart belongs to helping people recover.” Niah said

Niah has been dedicated to helping the most vulnerable populations enter our doors here at Royal Palms. She is compassionate, hardworking, and dedicated. She brings a sense of discipline and structure to the community.

“I have dreams of one day running a program for women who struggle with substance abuse and dealing with domestic violence issues. I attribute my hope for the future directly to my start here, being pushed and edified from the beginning. The most important thing to me now is to remain an agent of change with compassion and integrity.” She added

Kevin Butler, the new Program Manager

Kevin began his journey at Social Model Recovery Systems as an intern in July 2018 under the Screening and Assessment department.

Kevin completed his schooling at InterCoast College and is currently working on obtaining his substance use disorder (SUD) certification credentials.

In November 2018, Kevin started working as part of the Screening and Assessment department and then was transferred to Royal Palms to be a Primary Counselor. As a result of his hard work and dedication, he was promoted to Program Coordinator and now Program Manager.

As a Program Manager, Kevin will oversee the development and implementation of programs that aim to prevent and treat SUD. This would involve working closely with a team of counselors, therapists, and medical professionals, to ensure that the program is effective and meets the needs of individuals who are struggling with addiction.

Kevin’s goal as Program Manager is to provide individuals struggling with addiction the support and resources that they need to overcome their addiction and lead a healthy, fulfilling life.

“Kevin is the most empathetic and compassionate person I have ever met. He is patient, kind, dedicated, and hard-working. I look forward to his professional growth in his new position as Program Manager.” Vanessa said.

Congratulations Niah and Kevin. You both deserve it.
