On May 26th, several of our SMRS staff attended the annual ACHSA Luncheon (Association of Community Human Service Agencies).

We were honored to have Anders Corey, Health Deputy for Supervisor Kathryn Barger, sit at one of our two tables, while Patricia Suong, Director of Youth Justice Policy, graced us with her presence at our second table.

Both officials were quite engaging and inquired about the work we are doing here at SMRS. Each official left with a new understanding of the contribution SMRS makes to communities throughout the Los Angeles basin and surrounding areas.

Those receiving awards exemplified the courage it takes to rise from the ashes of their circumstances to inspire us all toward supporting others and achieving our personal bests.

The event was very well attended, and we look forward to participating next year. Our goal is to have SMRS represented through the achievements of residents and participants that we diligently seek to serve and promote.
