2019 African American Mental Health Conference

This past week, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health hosted the 2019 African American Mental Health Conference: Engaging and Empowering Communities through Education, Advocacy, and Action. The conference served as a place where individuals of different backgrounds (scholars, mental health professionals, residents, and more) can come together to engage in conversation to increase mental health awareness, improve communities, and provide a greater understanding regarding underserved populations of color. Thank you to Edward Carr and Marvin Gulley, two of the newest members of our Outreach Team, for representing Social Model Recovery Systems at this event.
